Mathematics

General Information

Today, the field of use of mathematics is constantly updating itself according to ever-changing needs. It is a well-known fact that mathematics research is at the root of progress in topics such as physics, chemistry, environment, space, bioinformatics, finance, economics, pharmaceuticals and even sociology, especially in advanced engineering.

Our department was founded in 2004 within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. In the academic year 2004-2005, it started education with 40 students with additional quota.

Algebra and Number Theory, Geometry, Analysis and Functions Theory, Topology, Mathematical Logic and Fundamentals, Applied Mathematical Sciences are available in our department. There are 4 classrooms and 1 computer laboratory in our department.

Graduates of the Department of Mathematics have the opportunity to work as experts in many public institutions and private sector with the title of “Mathematician”. At the same time, students who take formation courses in addition to the courses in the Mathematics undergraduate program can work as “Mathematics Teacher” in private schools and study centers as well as the schools under the Ministry of National Education. In addition, they have the opportunity to work as research assistant, specialist and instructor in addition to receiving master’s and doctoral education in universities.
